Huge congratulations to Elliot Powell, Year 11, winning the prestigious Al Worden “Endeavour” Scholarship affiliated with NASA. Elliot is one of only four young Australians selected for the 2023 scholarship and will be attending The U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp in Alabama this July. Elliot’s winning submission impressed the judges with its ingenuity and effectiveness, earning him the prestigious scholarship.

The Al Worden “Endeavour” Scholarship is a nation-to-nation initiative aimed at inspiring young people to pursue careers in engineering and space exploration. The program was launched in 2019 by Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Colonel Al Worden, naming it after the spacecraft that took him and his crew to the Moon in 1971. The program awards scholarship grants that enable teams of carefully selected high school-age students to participate in the world-renowned International Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. The current and planned roster of Endeavour Scholars includes students from the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Chile, France, Singapore, Australia, Bahrain, and the United States.

We are incredibly proud of Elliot for being awarded this scholarship and this incredible opportunity and look forward to hearing all about his experience when he returns from Space Camp later this year.
