In September 2018, 16 students and 5 staff headed to Negros Island in the Philippines for the OFGS Mission Trip
The OFGS team went into the community each day to build a small house and toilets. They also spent a part of each day seeing the work of International Care Ministries (ICM). Where they heard about the projects designed to help the Philippines ultra-poor who live on less than US$0.50 per day. On other days, the team worked with children, saw microbusinesses in action and heard about communities working together to save money.
The trip ended with a children’s camp where we sang songs, performed skits, played sports and helped the children with craft activities. It was a wonderful experience and lovely to see how joyful the Philippine’s people demonstrating happiness doesn’t come from material possessions.
